Introduction
Goguryeo
History Association, a non-profit history organization, was established
in 2003 with the aim of
providing appropriate
information on the history of Goguryeo to preserve and promote
all things Goguryeo
around
the world.
The
Association was conceived in the year 2000 by a group of individuals
who felt the need to fortify
the
research on the history of Goguryeo. By forming a club, members
can network, socialize and communicate
with each other in an Internet-based atmosphere and leverage
on each others' historical knowledge
and
concerns. It was subsequently incorporated in August 2003
to counter China's
Northeast Asia Project.
Mission Statement
The
Organization is committed to conduct research on the history
of Goguryeo, Barhar, and GoJoseon
Kingdoms
to reveal, based on the open nationalism, the historical FACTS
on the "Glory of Goguryo"
whose
territory extended from the northern part of the Korean peninsula
to the greater part of northern
China
in its heyday and whose superior cultural assets, independent
spirit, and military might are
the essential part
of Korean history.
Especially,
the Association is making comprehensive academic efforts to
cope with "Northeast Asia Project,"
through
which China has been claiming the ancient kingdom of Goguryeo
as part of its history, regarding
the
kingdom as a "regional administration" that received
its authority from Chinese dynasties
without
valid historical evidence, but "imperialism on history".
The organization is always
tempered with realism, based on the historical facts. In its
zeal to achieve maximum
effectiveness
the Organization has built up partnership of related organizations,
NGOs, historians, and individuals
who regardless of nationality, religion or politics working
together to put in place the initiatives necessary
to achieve its objectives.
